7 Things You Didn’t Know about Weight Loss

It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers game when it comes to weight loss. It happens to the best of us.

 

That’s why you need to take a step back, or better yet, have a professional guide you along the way to a healthier lifestyle.

Here are 7 Facts that you may not have known about weight loss:

  • The best way to lose fat is to build muscle! Muscle burns more calories at rest than fat does AND takes up less room!
  • Muscle weighs more than fat. Muscle might take up less space, but it does weigh more. Never fear though, because the focus should be on health & how you feel, NOT the numbers on the scale!
  • Lifting weights doesn’t mean that you’ll look like Arnold. Bodybuilders utilize a very specific training regimen and food plan—it’s almost impossible to duplicate on accident.
  • Cardio on its own is not an effective weight loss tool. Studies have proven that cardio alone is ineffective (and boring!).
  • The only way to lose weight is through caloric deficit. That’s right, you have to eat less than you burn. No fancy meal prep service or juice cleanse is going to take the weight off permanently, you have to be consistent in eating right. Ask a coach, that’s what we’re here for!
  • Weight loss is an investment in your health. That extra weight didn’t show up overnight, and it won’t go away overnight either. By investing the time and hiring a coach, you are investing in your health and setting the example for you loved ones. Do it for yourself—or better yet, for the ones you love.
  • You’re not alone in this. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 1.9 billion people are overweight. That’s a lot of people who are just like you!
