Diet, a Lifestyle or a Dirty Word?

Diet. These days it’s considered a dirty word. A curse. Oh, you’re on a diet? I’m so sorry for your loss. It seems to be synonymous with hangry women, bland boiled chicken, and no carbs. If that were the case I’d send flowers & condolences to all of my clients (and their families)! ๐Ÿ’
.
.
The word diet simply means what we eat. That’s it, full stop. We don’t “go on a diet” to lose weight, we simply change our diet. How extreme that change is, is entirely up to you. Some people push famous methods, like ones that use a point system, restrict macro groups, tell you when to eat, or simply starve you to death. Guess what? You don’t have to starve.
.
.
So what should you eat? Most people are overwhelmed, overworked, and under educated when it comes to nutrition. And food companies are hard at work to confuse people. So here’s the skinny: eat what comes from nature as often as you can. Eat a dang vegetable, and get some healthy fat on your plate. Have a bit of lean protein at every meal. Drink lots of water. Slow down and enjoy your food. When you’re full, stop eating. Nobody is going to yell at you for not cleaning your plate.
.
.
I care about 2 things: how food makes you feel, and that you have enough energy throughout the day. If you are not eating enough (i.e. below 1600 calories) on the daily, you probably feel groggy & cranky. If there’s a food that is great for you but you absolutely hate it, don’t eat it. Find what works for YOU. The best way to set yourself up for failure is to force yourself to eat foods you hate or to not eat enough. It’s not sustainable fam.
.
.
That’s why I became a Precision Nutrition Coach: to help people just like you cut through all the bs and live your healthiest life. Living a healthy life is possible, you just have to find what works for YOU. Make small changes. Create lasting habits. You ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸฝCan ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸฝDo ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸฝThis ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ
