Microwave Mentality

How often do your rush through your day? Rushing through meals, always go-go-go, always ready to check the next item off the list. As modern humans, we expect everything to be fast, microwave ready. We hate change, partly because it takes time and effort. It isn’t instant. Guilty as charged. I want things snappy, super quick and to be moving on before the ink’s dry.

That’s the microwave mentality. If it takes time or effort, it’s not worth it. If it takes an investment, it’s not worth it. Instant = success…until it doesn’t. Why is it that big name “nutrition” companies have such an abused revolving door? Lose the weight fast, quit, six months later you are back and in an even worse position. That is NOT sustainability! These companies profit from peddling yo-yo diets that feed into your microwave mentality.

Consider just a few of the benefits from a healthy & active lifestyle:

* Cardiovascular health
* Metabolic health (eating more is my personal fave!!) 
* Increased longevity 
* Improved cognitive function 
* Reduced risk of disease 
* Mood booster & a natural anti-depressant

So if a healthy & active lifestyle can do all that, why doesn’t everyone have a gym membership? Why aren’t the local parks crowded with walkers & joggers everyday? Because it’s not convenient for you, it takes effort. It might even require you to make a monetary commitment to a gym or coach. It’s not instant and you’ve set your health on the lowest rung of the ladder. You’ve got yourself a microwave mentality!

2020 is a new year, a new decade even! Ditch the microwave mentality and put in the WORK  to reap the benefits. It’s never to late to give it a shot.
